Southwark Diocese

SS Peter & Paul’s Mitcham Parish is part of the Archdiocese of Southwark. This is split up into three main areas (South West Area, South East Area and Kent area) - each with its own bishop. The map below shows the South West and South East Areas.

Dioces of Southwark

The Archbishop of Southwark was The Most Reverend Kevin John Patrick McDonald, who unfortunately had to resign due to ill health.  The diocese is currently being administered by Bishop John Hine, who looks after the Kent pastoral area.  Bishop Patrick Lynch looks after the South East pastoral area. Our Area Bishop is the Right Reverend Paul Hendricks.  Within each Area there are smaller groups called Deaneries - ours being the Deanery of Merton.  Other deaneries in the South West area are Balham, Cathedral, Croydon, Kingston, Mortlake and Sutton.
