The role of the Parish Council is to represent parishioners and their views to the Parish Priest and to give reaction and feedback from the parish to the Parish Priest when requested. The Council is reviewing it's constitution to bring it more closely into the diocesan vision for a Pastoral model, and a process of formation is ongoing.
Meetings of the Parish Advisory Council currently take place approximately four or five times a year, usually at 7.30pm on a Tuesday evening in the Parish Room. Additionally, there is an Annual General Meeting to which all parishioners are invited and where elections take place.
The current membership is of ten elected members chosen at the AGM. In addition, there are 8 other people who represent specific groups in the Parish. The two priests of the Parish and those responsible for Finance, Child Protection and Health & Safety are ex-officio members.
